In this video Ableton Live Certified Trainer Will Doggett shows you how to use the Network MIDI settings built-in to every Mac to sync two Ableton sessions! If you run tracks from a Mac, and use Ableton on another Mac for keys, you can easily sync up both machines using an Ethernet cable and a Network MIDI session between both machines. You will see two new midi ports called Input: Network (Session 1) and Output Network (Session 1). You should turn on track, sync and remote for these ins and outs, depending on your individual configuration and whoever has the computer that will be the “master”. On the slave computer, Click the EXT in the top left corner of Live and continue on. How to setup a virtual MIDI network. Live Versions: 1 - 10 Operating System: All In order to stream MIDI data such as MIDI Note, MIDI Control Change and MIDI Clock messages from a computer to another computer or device, you can set up a virtual MIDI network. Note: If you're syncing Live (or Link-enabled apps) across multiple computers, we recommend Link instead.
Hi!Several years ago I tried syncing two PC's using System Link which was introduced by Steinberg ages ago. Before that I tried every available sync protocol to make this work without success.
Systemlink (PC's connected via SPDIF) kept stable for about 45 mins and there was no way to get it back working after that.
Those 45 mins were awesome.
I did beats while my friend was doing basslines etc.
So there is lots of sense in having two machines running Live in Sync.
Now my question is if there is any way to make this happen with Ableton Live (about 100 years later after Steinberg introduced the very unsuccessful system link)?

Help is appreciated.
I have got another question regarding syncing.
Ableton 10 Mac
I have a mac at home for music and one in my office. The office one has several partitions (one for office work and one for music). Does anyone know if it is possible to keep my music partition and the mac at home in sync using a time machine backup on a nas which both machines have access to? So that I could open the music system in my office and have the stuff on it i did the last day on my mac at home.Ableton Mac Torrent
